As part of the programme of upgrades to existing Waste Water Treatment Sites in the NIW Northern Region, Braecom provided Project management services for MWH Global on behalf of the MGW Global/RPS Joint Venture Project Management Alliance.

As qualified Project Manager, Chartered Quantity Surveyor and H&S Manager, Braecom were ideally suited to assume the role of Project Manager on the WwTW Upgrade Projects under NEC 3 Form of Contract. The projects were delivered by a Joint Venture Design & Build consortium which included process plant installation & commissioning.

Project scope included:

* * * New Side stream secondary treatment process - 10no RBC's (6+4)

* * * New Humus tank construction
*
* * * Auto de sludging
*
* * * New MCC &REC Supply Upgrade
*
* * * Landscaping & external Siteworks work
*
* * * On site welfare Facilities Upgrades
*

The Services included:

* * * Full Project Management of 2 x existing WwTW plant upgrade projects from project in conjunction with the Technical Manager

* * * Management of Project Approvals through Client Gateways Option Appraisals A1 - A4 Approvals process
*
* * * Procurement process management from documentation preparation to appointment
*
* * * Management of Programme for Design & Construction
*
* * * Budget management including valuations & Compensation Events management
*
* * * Risk Management Strategy - establishment of Issues Log & Risk Register - Risk management meetings
*
* * * Management of detailed Scope change during construction
*
* * * Management in Conjunction with technical manager of Environmental Aspects
*
* * * Client Handover & Commissioning management
*

Both WwTW Dungiven & WwTW Maghera were delivered on programme, with agreed budgets and ahead of the timescales set out by the Client in order to obtain regulatory compliance.
