The £30 million extension to the Belfast Waterfront Hall has transformed the existing venue into a world-class conference and exhibition facility. The extended facilities together with the Waterfront's existing auditorium and studio are expected to attract 55,000 conference delegates per annum. A purpose indoor built link to Hilton Hotel was constructed as part of the project to allow a fully integrated delegate experience.

The first major conference inside the new facilities is scheduled for Spring 2016 (the annual International Surgical Congress of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland).

The Conference & Exhibition Centre has been built on a restricted riverside city centre site and has been delivered under the stringent operational requirements of the live venue and neighbouring 5 star hotel. Extended facilities include:

* * * 2 x interconnecting multifunctional and highly serviced conference & exhibition halls and associated concourses
-Hall 1 - 1850 m2 11.0m high - (sub divisible into 4no halls)
-Hall 2 - 750 m2 5.0m high - (sub divisible into 4no halls)

* * * 9 x additional flexible meeting room facilities catering for delegate groups of between 35 - 200
*
* * * Dedicated registration & reception space - 550m2
*
* * * Fully equipped CPU kitchen, satellite kitchens and associated dry, cold & chilled storage and capable of catering for banqueting for 750-1000 delegates.

* * * Maximum integration of existing facility including retention of 320 seat Studio theatre, bars and cafe.

* * * Purpose designed technical fit out.

* * * Exterior terraces offering stunning views of the River Lagan.

Project delivered under Construction excellence guidelines including the management and chairing of Project Steering Group meetings, reporting & representation to the Project Board (monthly) on Programme, Costs, Funding, Quality & Risk Management. Project subject to formal external Gateway Reviews at key stages.
